Riot's Form 10-K for 2025 carries his biography directly rather than by reference to a proxy: "Jason Les (age 40) has served as our Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") since February 2021 and as a member of our Board of Directors ("Board") since November 2017. He has been deeply involved with bitcoin since 2013, with significant experience in bitcoin mining, as an engineer studying protocol development, and contributing to open-source projects."
The same filing records that he was previously a founding partner of Binary Digital, a software development company, from May 2017 to November 2020, that he holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine, and that he formerly played poker professionally.
He signed the 2025 annual report as principal executive officer on 2 March 2026. The period he has run the company covers the Whinstone acquisition, the Corsicana build, the rename from Riot Blockchain to Riot Platforms at the end of 2022, and the January 2026 decision to lease part of the Rockdale site to Advanced Micro Devices rather than fill it with miners.
