Tether's about page lists Paolo Ardoino as Chief Executive Officer, alongside Giancarlo Devasini as Chairman, Simon McWilliams as Chief Financial Officer and Claudia Lagorio as Chief Operating Officer. Bitfinex's own leadership page lists him as Chief Technology Officer of that exchange, alongside JL van der Velde as Chief Executive Officer, Lagorio as Chief Operating Officer and Devasini as Chief Financial Officer. The two companies are separate, and the overlap in officers is a matter of public record on their own sites.
He is the public voice of Tether's move to El Salvador. Announcing the company's Digital Asset Service Provider licence there on 13 January 2025, he was quoted as saying that "this decision is a natural progression for Tether as it allows us to build a new home, foster collaboration, and strengthen our focus on emerging markets".
