NYDIG's own leadership page states that "Ross Stevens founded NYDIG in 2017, and serves as its Executive Chairman", and that he is also founder and chief executive of NYDIG's parent company, Stone Ridge Holdings Group. The Form D that New York Digital Investment Group LLC filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission in December 2021 lists him as both an executive officer and a director of the issuer.
The same page records that he began his career at Goldman Sachs after a PhD in finance and statistics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BSE in finance from the Wharton School, and that his philanthropy has included endowing the Stevens Center for Innovation in Finance at Wharton and the doctoral programme at Booth.
He is separately known for the annual Stone Ridge investor letters, which the firm publishes on its own site and which set out its case for bitcoin and for energy infrastructure.
